Theme: The Earth- Handle with Care
We, at Palm Harbor Montessori Academy, continue to celebrate Earth Day each year as a community and as a reminder to our children, as well as ourselves, to make decisions throughout the year that protect our environment. In keeping with our theme, it is suggested that everyone wear blue or green. Friends and family are very welcome to attend.
We begin the day with a Pancake Breakfast at New Middle School, starting at 8:00 a.m., which is joyfully prepared by our New Middle School students, parents and staff. Please join us for a tasty start to a beautiful day. All of the proceeds will go to benefit the graduation celebration for the New Middle School students at the end of the year.
Our Opening Ceremony and class presentations begin on the basketball court at 9:30 a.m. Be sure to stay with us for our student musical presentations, and the colorful Maypole Dance by the Senior Elementary beginning at 9:30 a.m. This is a must-see for all newcomers and a wonderful tradition for all of us. For your comfort and convenience, please bring a blanket and lawn chairs to sit on during the presentations.
At 10:30 a.m., we will have arts and crafts activities for your family’s enjoyment. The Earth Day events will end at noon, at which time students will return to their classrooms. This is a full day of school; however, if you wish to take your child home after the Earth Day celebration, please ensure that you communicate this to the teacher and sign your child out at the front desk.
East Lake Parents:
THERE WILL BE NO STAFF MEMBERS AT OUR EAST LAKE CAMPUS DURING THE HOURS OF 8:00 A.M. AND 12:15 P.M. For those students who arrive early for extended care, please park your car and walk your child into the main building at the Nebraska campus. Ms. Maria Eva will be in Ms. Mina’s classroom and Ms. Mimi will be in Ms. Mara’s classroom to greet students. At regular arrival time (8:40 a.m.), please drop your child off in the car line and our Teaching Assistants will escort them into the main building. At noon, if your child is a half-day student, you may take your child home at that time. All families must check in with the child’s teacher before leaving and then sign out at the front desk. If your child stays all day, you may drive him/her back after noon as this event is for the entire school.
